The hard work of David Acton and members of the Lostock Partnership is finally paying off. After years of arguing that health provision in the Lostock neighbourhood had effectively been withdrawn, things are looking up. Firstly, we've seen the reintroduction of NHS denistry at Lostock Circle with Circle Dental and now we have the brilliant news that a new health centre will be developed on the old Lostock Clinic site.
Congratulations due to Maureen Reilly and Ann Day of Lostock Partnership are fully merited. Planning permission has been applied for to demolish the delapidated clinic and to build a brand new facility. The proposals also involve the Lostock Pharmacy moving into the health centre and the Bennett Street surgery (opp Stretford Library) moving to Lostock.
The planning application can be seen here.
We look forward to working closely with the GP practice.
Parts of Lostock do figure badly in health inequality and it's long overdue that access to health provision is reintroduced. The presence of a health centre at the heart of this area can only be a good thing.
