"Labour’s strength is its members. Their talent and potential needs to be unleashed. Our members need to feel more included and valued for their time, commitment and dedication. Through Labour, they must feel able to shape the direction and policy of their party."

Don't worry, most Labour Party members don't do any knocking on doors or delivering leaflets. It's a real help if you'd like or want to do this, but it's perfectly normal for members to prefer not to.
You don't have to attend meetings. You don't have to agree with every policy. We all have different experiences and viewpoints.
The Labour Party's values are enshrined in the following
The Labour Party is a democratic socialist party. It believes that by the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more than we achieve alone, so as to create for each of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many, not the few, where the rights we enjoy reflect the duties we owe, and where we live together, freely, in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance and respect.
Your priorities might be local, national or international. They might be about the National Health Service or they might be sustainability in how the world uses scarce resources. Or they might be about youth facilities on your patch.
You'll be invited to Constituency meetings attended by Kate Green. You'll be invited to ward meetings. You can propose policy via a number of routes, from the traditional resolution to participation in policy forums. We'll send you newsletters and you can be part of a vital conversation on shaping the promise we make to the electorate.
This is a brilliant time to join Labour. We're reshaping and refounding ourselves to win back support and trust. Our membership is our greatest asset and we can't afford to ignore their experience and judgement. The Labour Party Conference is coming back to Manchester this year so we're in a fantastic position to make our voices heard.
