The above list is the proposed planned structural maintenance for the current year. There's two obvious provisos with which to view the schedule, firstly the schedule is not signed off by the executive member, but more importantly the planned works are based on a budget and even with the best will in the world, things happen that eat into that budget. The last two winters have been particularly severe and have caused unforseeable deterioriation to road surfaces throughout Trafford. We all hope for a mild winter.

What's the Project List

It's the list of road maintenance and other capital projects scheduled for the area

My road is need of resurfacing!

Check whether your road is listed on the project list and if it's not make sure to report it to the council.

Where do I report road and pavement problems?

The best way to report a road or pavement problem is online at the Fix My Street website.

What is Fix My Street?

FixMyStreet - report, view or discuss local problems

FixMyStreet is a site to help people report, view, or discuss local problems they've found to their local council by simply locating them on a map. It launched in early February 2007.

Can you give me some examples?

Sure. Graffiti, unlit lampposts, abandoned beds, broken glass on a cycle path; anything like that that could be usefully reported to your council to be fixed.

How do I use the site?

After entering a postcode or location, you are presented with a map of that area. You can view problems already reported in that area, or report ones of your own simply by clicking on the map at the location of the problem.

How are the problems solved?

They are reported to the council by email. The council can then resolve the problem the way they normally would. Alternatively, you can discuss the problem on the website with others, and then together lobby the council to fix it, or fix it directly yourselves.

So what's the advantage of FixMyStreet?

Well, firstly that others can see your report, and they can add weight to it. You can also post photographs of the problem. It helps us as councillors to chase up problems that are just not being dealt with quickly enough.

However, if you prefer to use Trafford Council's Reporting Page, just follow this link.

Tell us where you think the roads need attention in the local area
(particularly Lostock, Trafford Park, Stretford and Gorsehill itself)

Don't just restrict yourselves to resurfacing. We're vitally interested in safety considerations for cycling and pedestrians.
